The complete ambience of Saligramam was spangled with the musical aroma with the presence of many versatile personalities from film and arts industry launching ‘The Music School’ owned by critically acclaimed cinematographer-writer Chezhian’s wife Prema Chezhian. Filmmaker Bala, Mysskin, Seeman, Artist Marudhu, playback singer Mano, poetess Thamizhachi and many others were present for the occasion. Hailing from the most blessed family of music and arts, the young chap Sibi, the son of Chezhian-Prema couple amused everyone playing mellisonant tunes on piano.
Speaking on the occasion, director Seeman said, “Arts and music are something that breaks the language barriers and boundaries. But it is disappointing to know that Tamil film industry has abandoned its essence and as a result, our region is dominated by outsiders. But I’m happy that the renaissance of music and arts is happening at a greater magnitude. Isaignani Ilayaraja heading all the way from a small village of Pannaipuram made a revolutionary breakthrough. Apparently, Chezhian hailing from the town of Sivagangai is spearheading with the concept of sharing his musical knowledge with the present generation through this music school.”
Poetess Thamizhachi on her turn said, “Music has been proved scientifically as a cure for many mental and physical sicknesses… Music connects and unites people beyond religion, language, community and regions. I am happy that Chezhian sir and his wife, my close friend Prema for the success of this great mission of spreading musical knowledge.”
Chezhian is ennobled as the prominent cinematographer and writer. He has created a medium of new visual language through his lens in films like Kalloori and National award winning films like Thenmerku Paruva Kaatru and Paradesi followed by Bala’s upcoming film ‘Thaarai Thappattai’.
